If you’ve got a big space to fill your gonna need something bigger. Extra large, multi wick, scented candles are the way to get the job done. How big do candles get? Well this post has a candle that is over 13 kg.
Yea, you heard that right. A 13.6 kg candle.
There are some brands that have been making these huge candles for a while now and there is actually a good amount to choose from. (Not all of them are 13 kg)

Where to buy these giant candles
It goes without saying that these candles aren’t as commonly found as regular candles.
First of all, the size of them makes it hard to display them on store shelves with other candles.
Second, these candles are expensive. They’re expensive because there is just so much candle to them. Technically, most of them are actually cheaper than their regular sized siblings when you work out their price per ounce. But still, it sure feels expensive when you are dishing out upwards of $200 for a single candle. They can cost even more than that for the luxury brands and biggest sizes.
So where do you buy extra large scented candles then?
The easiest place is honestly online. I buy everything online nowadays. Large candles being no exception.

The only negative about buying candles online however, is that some retailers still suck at packaging fragile products. Most are getting pretty good at it, but some just can’t seem to get it right.
Most of the time, when a package does happen to arrive broken, most companies that I’ve dealt with will usually just send a replacement so it’s not too much of a hassle, but it’s something to keep in mind.
The couple times that I’ve ordered a big candle like these online, it arrived in very good packaging and without a scratch on it. It’s probably because they don’t want to be sending out any free replacements on expensive candles, so they make sure they ship them safely.

We have decided to categorize these candles into a variety of sizes because getting a 1 kg candle is a whole lot different than buying a 13 kg candle. Some brands only go up to a certain size and so, as we move up in size, the amount of candles in each category will lessen. Obviously. We also picked a scent to show off for each.
My price per ounce calculations should only be taken as approximations. Some companies go by weight of wax, while others go by total weight. Use the numbers as a rough guideline.

This is the newest candle we’ve added to the list and is one of the best options for anyone who is not wanting to empty their bank accounts on a large candle. This one is the smallest on this list but it is also one of the cheapest, plus, you can buy it on Amazon!
It doesn’t hurt that this candle is getting near unanimous praise in the candle community as well.
2. Yachblin Huge Candles – Various Scents

Another new candle to this list for 2023, this one is by far the best option if you’re on a budget. This candle can also be found on Amazon and is just a bit bigger than the previous one on this list.
It has mostly great reviews so far, and at this price, how can you really go wrong?
3. Sea and Sand Candles – Asian Pear

This candle is quite large but instead of being tall, it’s wider with more wicks. Depending on your preference, you might like one style over the other. Once again, a great budget price point for a large candle.
4. Nest Fragrances – Luxury Sized Candles Grapefruit

Nest is a favorite on the blog. However, I don’t believe that we’ve mentioned their 4 wick luxury candle. This candle is 1.34 kg and surprisingly, that is one of the smaller candles on this list! If you’ve got a favorite scent, check to see if it’s in this size to get even more of a fragrance punch, that’ll fill any room.
5. Le Labo – Santal 26

Santal 26 is one of Le Labo’s signature scents and this version of it comes in a big ol’ concrete vessel. This one is around 1.2 kg but also quite pricey for it’s size, working out to around $11 an ounce.

This candle comes from the acclaimed fragrance house Creed, and turns out to actually be the most expensive candle on this list when you break it down to dollars per ounce. It is a limited edition candle.. but still. That is pricey!

I still can’t say this brand name out loud but I love their candles. Look how cool that jar is. This complex fragrance includes notes of saffron, cumin, nutmeg, green leaves, jasmine, ylang moheli, patchouli, peruvian balsam, sandalwood, birch tar, and civet. Sounds pretty spicey to me!
9. Goose Creek – Toasty Hot Toddy

I have to admit, Goose Creek doesn’t make it on to the blog as much as they should. It’s so hard to get to them all! They make some excellent candles and at a great price to boot. The excellent Toasty Hot Toddy scent above is 1.7 kg of goodness.

1. Apotheke – Concrete 4 Wick Candle

This is the largest style of Apotheke candles and they come in a concrete vessel that is great for indoors and outdoors. Lovely looking candles at a decent price!
2. Jo Malone – Luxury Size Candle

Ahh Jo Malone.. So pricey, but so good. The largest variety from the brand comes in at 2.5 kg and burns for around 230 hours.
3. Trudon – Great Candles

Long time candle makers Cire Trudon aren’t going to be left out of a list like this. The fragrance masters have their candles in a 3 kg version called their “Great” sized candles that burn for more than hours! The version above is a collab candle they did with Balmain that takes parts of the Ernesto scent and adds in some floral notes for a lovely concoction.

Okay, enough with the luxury candles, here is one that is very reasonable for the size. The price changes on Amazon so I can’t give an exact but see what the current price is here. Crossroads candles are damn good as well. If you want a fragrance powerhouse on a budget, here is your candle.
5. Zodax Illuminaria Collection – 2.9 kg Large Candles

Here is another massive candle from Amazon, and once again it is relatively cheap per ounce. Not as cheap as the Crossroads candle, but still, not bad!
6. Dr. Vranjes Firenze – Rosso Nobile Candle

The story behind this fragrance involves a challenge to create an aroma that matched the power of flavors from drinking a glass of wine. This is the product of 2 years worth of testing. Sounds pretty impressive. The candle has hundreds of hours worth of burn time and comes in a mouth-blown vessel that pays homage to the Vault of the Florentine Dome.

Coming in at a massive 10kg is the MAX 35’s from Baobab Candle Collection. A single candle will give you around 800 hours of burn time! These things are huge. The price per ounce is the icing on the cake with this size as well. Believe it or not, they are only a little more per ounce than Bath and Body Works candles! Unless of course.. you are using their half off sale, which you should be!
3. Soho Home – Bianco Bergamot Ultimate Candle

Here is another big one at 10 kg. This time it’s from Soho Home. It’s got notes of lime, bergamot, and oakmoss so it’ll get your home smelling nice for a long time!
4. Keystone Candle – Giganticandle

Yes.. you read that right. And yes.. you also read that right. This candle DWARFS most of the candles on this list coming in at an incredible 12.7 kg. And it is also incredibly affordable, being one of the overall cheapest candles on the list to buy, while also being the biggest. It might not have the luxury stylings of other candles on this list but who can argue with that size and that price!
5. Thompson Ferrier – 480oz Grande Buddha Scented Candle

And to finish off the list we’ve got an absolutely huge candle! This one from Thompson Ferrier is expensive, especially at first glance. It’ll set you back a cool.. $1540 USD. While that sounds incredibly expensive, when you price out how much candle you are getting per dollar it’s not as bad. This candle is a whopping 480 ounces. Still super expensive and something that I will never be able to afford personally, but we can all dream right? It doesn’t hurt that this candle looks great in your home as well as it comes in a ceramic gold or silver Buddha vessel.
