Don’t we all deserve a little something for ourselves sometimes?
I don’t know about you, but I always seem so busy.
The list of things I have to do inside and outside of the house just seems never-ending. I’m constantly juggling this and that, and it can get a bit overwhelming at times. I can even get discouraged if I am not careful because there is always so much more I want to do, but it seems like there is never enough time.
I think it’s imperative to respect those feelings and remember to pat myself on the back for doing my best to keep it all together.
It’s tempting to treat myself with food. It’s been a major weakness of mine in the past, but I’m trying not to do that anymore. I want to bring health and wholeness into my life, not add to my frustration, as well as the size of my waistline.
I’ve found that little luxuries can help keep me on track.
They are important signposts to mark when I am making an effort to have personal, de-stress time. My personal key to mindfulness, and bringing myself into the moment, is to engage as many of my body’s senses as possible.
I need that to focus on myself and my well-being, instead of the busyness of my daily life. I find luxury candles seem to do that little something extra for your senses, which you don’t see too often.
The thing that separates them from more ordinary candles, in my opinion, is their unique scents and often times gorgeous containers. They simply give you that feeling of pampering yourself, but with candles.
I really love how different they are from anything else that I’ve smelled before from the mass market.
They also burn cleanly, and rarely with problems, but that is an obvious expectation from candles that are on the pricier side of things. I’ve decided they are definitely worth the extra money when I factor in how long they last and the scent throw that they have.
They’re conversation starters. I love introducing them to what I love or new things I’ve tried. I think it adds a warmth and comfort to my space that feels more inviting as well.
My Current Top Seven: The Best of the Luxury Candle Brands

Cire Trudon is of the highest echelon when it comes to candle making.
With an extremely long history of perfecting their craft, I feel like no luxury candle list would be complete without an entry from these master candle makers.
I chose Abd El Kader because it is a scent that I feel can please nearly everybody. It’s a fragrance that I have loved from the very first time I tried the scent and I have been a die hard fan of it ever since.
The candles are quite pricey, but if you can afford them, they are truly exquisite.
The over-sized, hand-blown, art-glass holder adds a simple, classic look to the scent of mountain air, a cedar log fire, and evergreens.
Perfect for winter and the holidays, it feels almost spiritual, reminiscent of beautiful, old churches or a rustic, cozy alpine lodge.
They always use only the finest fragrance oils available, in this case showcasing Moroccan amber, sweet patchouli, heliotrope, and bergamot, with a bit of eucalyptus.
Each of Nest’s fragrances are created by accomplished perfumers leading fragrance houses and the classic shape with its modern stripe etching will complement any décor.
This one has a definite refreshing, spa-like feel that is so much more sophisticated than a more typical floral or vanilla. It really fills a room, but It’s not overly spicy, just warm and inviting, very romantic too.
Byredo’s signature scent, at least in their candle lineup, Bibliotheque. What to say about this scent.. It is extremely powerful first of all. If you like a strong candle, this will be for you.
As for the scent, what I seem to pick up is the smell of very old pages in a book (Hence the name, which means library in French). Like I’m talking really old books. That dusty kind of smell with a little bit of leather in it. You’ll either love it or hate it.
Either way, Byredo makes some great candles, and that’s why they are on this list.
I chose this candle for a combination of it’s look and it’s fragrance. If you want to make a statement and have people notice a candle, this is the one for you.
It is a spicy aroma that is encased in a golden repeated face patterned vessel that is signature to Jonathan Adler candles.
It gives you a truly unique experience with a candle, and will surely be your new muse.
Fornasetti candles are for those that want a candle that are guaranteed not to go unnoticed.
Not only do they have heavy fragrances that linger in the room, their jars are pieces of art. People actually collect and resell these because they are so pretty.
Flora is probably their best seller and my personal favorite scent, but they are all really good. These are pricey candles, but great for those that want something special from their candles and fragrances.
Purchasing luxury candles, summed up
These candles will put a dent in your bank account.
However, if you want a candle that looks and smells extra special, this is how you get it.
I’ve tried so many dupes, and while some are nice candles, nothing really comes close to matching what these high end candles do with fragrance throw.
And as a buying tip, I’ve said this before in other posts, the larger the candle you buy, the better price per ounce you will get and the heavier the fragrance throw will be.
Decide what you want the candle for.
Are you a real estate agent trying to sell a house and want a nice fragrance for a big open space? Go for the bigger candles.
Are you just going to have the candle on your desk close to where you will be a lot of the time? A regular sized candle might be perfect for you and may even throw off enough scent when unlit.
I hope you enjoyed this list! We will keep this list updated as our favorite candles change but this is where you will find our absolute favorite high end brands to burn.
