These Are The Absolute Best Luxury Candles You Need To Try

BEST LUXURY CANDLES LIST

Hi fellow candle junkies! It’s your favorite scent-obsessed blogger here, ready to wax lyrical (pun intended) about a topic near and dear to my heart – luxury candles. Now, before you roll your eyes and murmur something about me just being a fancy candle addict, let me tell you – there’s more to these candles than just their luxurious allure.

Compared to their regular counterparts, luxury candles are like the difference between fast food and a five-course gourmet meal. They’re not about a quick, overpowering scent fix. Instead, they weave an intricate story with layers of nuanced, complex fragrances that unfold slowly, engaging your senses in a riveting dance.

It’s an experience – one that transcends the superficial simplicity of your average, run-of-the-mill candle. These little fire-lit luxuries offer a scented journey that’s akin to diving into a great novel, compared to skimming a clickbait article online.

Without further ado, let’s embark on this aromatic adventure where I’ll share my personal top 6 current favorite luxury candles that have completely redefined my idea of a scented soirée at home.

Trust me, once you’ve had a taste of this refined candle game, there’s no going back. Buckle up, it’s going to be a scintillating ride!

My Current Top Six: The Best of the Luxury Candle Brands

1. FIGUIER / FIG TREE — DIPTYQUE PARIS

Inspired by the eau de toilette Philosykos, the sweet fig, and milky tree sap blend to personify the best qualities of each in their warmth and freshness.

Made in France with hand-poured vegetable wax and a cotton lead-free wick. Only natural ingredients are used in all of their fragrances to create pure and natural scents with a maximum of complexity and intrigue.

The result is very soothing, green scent that is great for spring and summer and perfect for relaxing.

The candle comes in various sizes, but my favorite is the extra large one pictured above because I find that the large candles throw scent better than the smaller candles. It’s quite expensive though, just warning you!

You can grab one for yourself online at the official Diptyque website, Amazon.com or online department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales

2. ABD EL KADER – CIRE TRUDON

top note : spearmint, lemon, blackcurrant bud, apple, ginger, cloves / middle : jasmin / base : vanille

Cire Trudon is of the highest echelon when it comes to candle making.

With an extremely long history of perfecting their craft, I feel like no luxury candle list would be complete without an entry from these master candle makers.

I chose Abd El Kader because it is a scent that I feel can please nearly everybody. It’s a fragrance that I have loved from the very first time I tried the scent and I have been a die hard fan of it ever since.

The candles are quite pricey, but if you can afford them, they are truly exquisite.

You can grab one online from Amazon along with some online department stores.

3. FEU DE BOIS / SKI HOUSE — LAFCO

lafco lux

Designed to create the ambiance of a ski vacation, these soy-based candles are clean-burning and feature a 100% natural cotton wick.

The over-sized, hand-blown, art-glass holder adds a simple, classic look to the scent of mountain air, a cedar log fire, and evergreens.

Perfect for winter and the holidays, it feels almost spiritual, reminiscent of beautiful, old churches or a rustic, cozy alpine lodge.

You can grab one of these beauties online at the official Lafco website if you want to score one of their frequent discounts, or other online retailers including: Amazon

4. MOROCCAN AMBER — NEST FRAGRANCES

best luxury candles nest Moroccan amber

Nest candles are made with a premium, soft, highly refined, cosmetic-grade wax to optimize burn and fragrance diffusion.

They always use only the finest fragrance oils available, in this case showcasing Moroccan amber, sweet patchouli, heliotrope, and bergamot, with a bit of eucalyptus.

Each of Nest’s fragrances are created by accomplished perfumers leading fragrance houses and the classic shape with its modern stripe etching will complement any décor.

This one has a definite refreshing, spa-like feel that is so much more sophisticated than a more typical floral or vanilla. It really fills a room, but It’s not overly spicy, just warm and inviting, very romantic too.

You can get one of these online from Amazon.com

5. BIBLIOTHEQUE – BYREDO

lux candle

Byredo’s signature scent, at least in their candle lineup, Bibliotheque. What to say about this scent.. It is extremely powerful first of all. If you like a strong candle, this will be for you.

As for the scent, what I seem to pick up is the smell of very old pages in a book (Hence the name, which means library in French).  Like I’m talking really old books. That dusty kind of smell with a little bit of leather in it. You’ll either love it or hate it.

Either way, Byredo makes some great candles, and that’s why they are on this list.

You can find these candles on a bunch of online retailers including Amazon, Violet Grey and Saks Fifth Avenue

6. JONATHAN ADLER — MUSE D’OR CANDLE

I chose this candle for a combination of it’s look and it’s fragrance. If you want to make a statement and have people notice a candle, this is the one for you.

It is a spicy aroma that is encased in a golden repeated face patterned vessel that is signature to Jonathan Adler candles.

It gives you a truly unique experience with a candle, and will surely be your new muse.

You can find this on Neiman Marcus, and East Dane just to name a few places.

Purchasing luxury candles, summed up

These candles will put a dent in your bank account.

However, if you want a candle that looks and smells extra special, this is how you get it.

I’ve tried so many dupes, and while some are nice candles, nothing really comes close to matching what these high end candles do with fragrance throw.

And as a buying tip, I’ve said this before in other posts, the larger the candle you buy, the better price per ounce you will get and the heavier the fragrance throw will be.

Decide what you want the candle for.

Are you a real estate agent trying to sell a house and want a nice fragrance for a big open space? Go for the bigger candles.

Are you just going to have the candle on your desk close to where you will be a lot of the time? A regular sized candle might be perfect for you and may even throw off enough scent when unlit.

I hope you enjoyed this list! We will keep this list updated as our favorite candles change but this is where you will find our absolute favorite high end brands to burn.
