Trying Out Candles From Moment At Home

Hello Candle Junkies! I must apologize for the lack of blog posts as of late. Things have been pretty crazy in my personal life and I’ve been having a heck of a time getting around to the blog. In fact, I meant to put this blog post out months ago, but never got around to putting the finishing touches on it 🫣

Better late than never, I suppose, right??

So, recently I tried out some candles from Moment At Home and I wanted to share my thoughts on their Warm Casmir Reverie and Spiced Pumpkin Dreams candles. Here’s what I thought.

Quick Facts:

  • Brand: Moment At Home
  • Scents: Warm Casmir Reverie, Spiced Pumpkin Dreams
  • Wax Type: Soy Blend
  • Wick Type: Cotton
  • Burn Time: Up to 50 hours
  • Price: $28.00 each

  • Aesthetic and Design: Simple and classy. Their sleek glass jars send a vibe that is low-key elegance – no over-the-top frills here.

First Impressions (aka The First Sniff):

  • Warm Casmir Reverie: It’s like a gentle hug from your favorite cashmere sweater, with a whisper of vanilla and warm woods. Totally zen.
  • Spiced Pumpkin Dreams: This one screams autumn! Imagine being at a fall fair, surrounded by all those yummy pumpkin and spice scents.

Lighting Up: These babies lit right up and melted evenly right off the bat – no messing around.

The Whole Scent Experience:

  • Warm Casmir Reverie: It stayed true to its initial promise – soothing and calm, ideal for those nights when you just want to unwind.
  • Spiced Pumpkin Dreams: It’s like fall in a jar. If you like traditional fall fragrance, you’ll love this one.

Performance and Burn: Both candles behaved relatively nicely with an even burn and no annoying tunneling issues. There was some mushrooming of the wicks which also caused some larger than necessary flames and some sooting which also turned the rims of the jars black.

With more consistent trimming of these wicks they should do fine, but just be aware of that.

They also lasted as long as they claimed, which is always a win in my book.

Pro Tip: To keep your candles burning nicely and to get the most out of them, ensure you’re letting them burn long enough to melt the wax all the way to the edges of the jar every time you light them up. It prevents wax wastage and keeps your candle looking neat and prevents tunneling from developing.

My Thoughts On These Candles

Warm Casmir Reverie and Spiced Pumpkin Dreams from Moment At Home have been a blast to test. They’re the perfect pair for setting a cozy and festive mood.

The overall design of the candles were nothing overly flashy, but they have an elegant, simple look that gets the job done.

To be completely honest, at this price point (which I would consider to be entry-luxury), I wish there was a little more that made these candles stand out from the crowd. I was burning candles from various other brands around this time (as I do), and I just couldn’t shake the thought that while these candles were nice, but they just didn’t have that extra something that would make them more memorable and more worth the price tag.

As always, that is just my opinion, and maybe you might not enjoy the flashiness that certain candle brands have. That is perfectly fine!
