An Amazing Candle That Smells Like The Pirates Ride From Disney

Tiktokers have been on the hunt for the perfect candle that smells like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and it’s been a sea of trials and errors. But alas, it seems that the treasure has been found – with not one, but two winners!

Each of these two candles offers varying degrees of that elusive, musty scent we all associate with the beloved ride (which is mostly Bromine FYI).

Ah, the unmistakable aroma that greets you as you embark on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride – it’s a scent that many riders have come to associate with adventure and nostalgia.

What’s behind this unique smell, you ask?

It’s primarily the scent of bromine, a chemical used to treat the waters on the ride. Unlike chlorine, which has a sharp and distinct smell, bromine’s scent is more subtle, with a musty quality that’s become synonymous with the atmospheric flume rides.

Whether this is a scent that we should be proud of searching for is debatable, but the nose wants what the nose wants!

Let’s start with ‘Pirate Life’, one of the first candles to nail the scent pretty well. This candle that smells like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, but is blended with some more mild scents to make it more appealing to most people.

But who here only wants a mild scent of that delicious ride water? Not I, my friends.

Some of you might recall our post we did on candles that accurately capture familiar scents from Disney parks. Pirate Life made that list because it was one of the few brands (you might be surprised at how many companies try making these scents) doing these scents that really got that scent down.

The Magic Candle Company, the brand that actually makes the Pirate Life candle, listened to fans of the scent and actually made a scent that smells more heavily like the notes we are actually looking for from that ride. This newer scent called ‘Splash’ dives deep into the musty, bromine scents from the ride even more accurately.

For those who’ve been on the hunt for that classic bromine scented candle, look no further. This is it. I think I like it even more than the original Pirate Life candle in fact.
