Top 5 Ring Candles

top 5 ring candles

With the price of ring candles being a bit higher than your everyday ‘Bed, Bath, and Beyond’ candle, you want to be sure that the one that you pick out is worth your money and actually a quality candle. You may be looking for a more fragrant candle or maybe it’s just the quality of the ring or jewelry found inside that is important to you. Whatever the case may be I’ve constructed a little basic guide to point you in the right direction using personal recommendations along with the general consensus from people who have purchased some of each.

This will be based on a variety of factors so you can choose what caters most to your interests. (List will be updated when necessary. Last update: Feb 10, 2016)

The CandleJunkies 5 Best Ring Candles List

Number 5

diamond candles rating

First up, we have the company that started it all. The ring candle from Diamond Candle. While a few other companies have come along with incredible candles and taken the crown as best ring candle (at least in our opinion), Diamond Candles still makes a solid choice if you are looking to buy a ring candle. They have a decent selection of scent choices that both look and smell great. We found that since they are on such a mass scale now, that their jewelry quality has weakened a bit and sometimes you will find duplicate rings that others have found in their candles. Don’t get me wrong, they still do have nice rings. If you have found a ring worth a notable amount it will have a tag on it that will allow you to appraise it on their website.

Size:  16 oz

Wax Type: 100% Soy wax

Prize Option: Ring ($10 -$5000 value)

Burn Time: 100+ Hours

What is My Ring Worth?: If the ring inside is of value $100 or higher a code will be found attached. Code entry can be found after creating an account on their website HERE

Number 4

jewelry candles rating

The candles from Jewelry Candles were overall, very impressive. They are scented with scented using a wide range of essential oils allowing them to have one of the largest selections of scents available. At the time of writing this list there are a total of 86 scents available! Within this vast selection you can be sure to find a scent that you’ll love. I love that these candles contain 2 wicks, it truly helped with the candles burn quality. Something that set their candles apart were that they had gifting in mind when designing their candles. For example, they have a line of candles which they call “greeting candles” that are a sort of 3 in 1 candle that contains the candle, the ring/jewelry inside, and also the label doubles as a greeting card that you can pick according to the occasion. Candles aren’t their only option, they also have wax roses, soaps, and tarts with jewelry inside as well, so if candles aren’t your thing – I assume they are if you are at our blog 😉 – than you can still choose something that you might be more interested in instead.

fragrant jewels rating

Fragrant Jewels is a newcomer to our list. We have been keeping an eye on their candles for a while now and have loved what the company has done. Fragrant Jewels differentiate themselves from the competition by using a proprietary coconut wax blend for their candles which allows their candles to hold fragrance extremely well. They also have one of the highest maximum jewelry value available when compared to other ring candle brands. This high prize potential is only matched by Jewelry In Candles.

When it comes to jewelry variety, Fragrant Jewels was lacking slightly because they only have the option of rings as a surprise inside. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing however, as the rings which did come from these candles, even the lower valued pieces,  seemed to look much better than a few of the other companies.

They also have a new collection of candles called ‘The Black Satin Collection’  in which they partnered with Swarovski Crystals. These candles all contain .925 sterling silver rings made with Swarovski crystals plus a chance for a bonus ring valued at up to $10000. These candles are slightly more pricey but they come in gorgeous glass collectible jars.

Sizes available: 11 oz – 16 oz. The 16 oz candles are available in single or tri-wick formats

Wax Type: Coconut wax blend

Prize Options: Rings with a potential value ranging from $10 – $10000

Burn Time: 100+ Hours

What is My Ring Worth?: All rings come with a tag that has a code attached to them. Enter the code at the Fragrant Jewels Vault to real its value.

Two Way Tie For Number 1 Between…

jewelry in candles review

It was a tough decision for first spot, so much so that we couldn’t pick which of these two was better. Jewelry In Candles and JewelScent are (still) our current top favourites for best ring candles. Whichever you decide to go with, you can be sure that you will be getting a high quality candle. Jewelry In Candles (JIC) quickly won us over and continue to be improving every day. With an enormous selection of scents and highly customizable jewelry options, Jewelry In Candles really steps it up a notch. The total count on scents at the time of making this list is 74 for their jewelry candles and 76 for their jewelry tarts which is beat out only by Jewelry Candles at 86. Even though JIC had the second highest amount of scents, I still found theirs to be the most wild and fun, ranging from “Rose Zinfandel” to the masculine scent of “The Gentleman” to the triple scented and layered “Neapolitan” candle. This versatility carries over into the jewelry that is offered inside of their candles and tarts. You can choose between a men or womens ring of nearly any size, necklace, or earrings for your jewelry surprise. Jewelry In Candles also sometimes sends out bonus candles at a random chance with your order, which have gift prizes inside that can be exchanged for things like Ipads and other hi-tech electronics or even vacation packages! The only thing we didn’t like with JIC was that it is more difficult to have your lower valued jewelry appraised.

Update: You WILL find a tag attached to your piece of jewelry if it’s value is $100 or higher but it would have been nice to know what each piece was worth, regardless of value.

Size: 18 oz

Wax Type: 100% Soy wax

Prize Options: Rings (with choices for men), earrings, or necklace. Also bonus prizes ranging from electronics to vacations ($10 – $10000+ value)

Burn Time: 100+ Hours

What is My Ring Worth?: If the ring inside is valued at $100 or more it will have a tag attached to it stating it’s value

Consultant Program: If you are looking to make a little supplemental income on the side, or just get a 30% discount on the candles yourself, Jewelry In Candles offers a way for you to join their program and sell their candles for some extra cash! Tied At Number 1 With JIC Is…

jewelscent review

The candle from JewelScent was our clear cut favorite until we tried Jewelry In Candles. These are stunning candles. Their classic line of candles are without a doubt the nicest looking ring candles out of any brand that we’ve tried. The semi-transparent floral type patterns really give the candles a nice look and that is highlighted even further with the glow from the candles in the dark. Aside from being so aesthetically pleasing, these are some of the best quality when it comes to ring/jewelry candles. I found that the wax melted evenly and gave a melt pool of almost 1/2 an inch consistently the entire way down. The wick is slightly thinner on these than some of the other candles which seemed to stop it from “mushrooming” and causing soot. One of the best performing ring candles that I have ever tried out. While JewelScent does not have as wide of a scent selection as a few other brands like JIC, the scents that they do have are beautiful. Grapefruit Pomegranate in their signature collection might be one of the best smelling candles I have owned. Like some of the others, you are not limited to just candles and tarts. JewelScent also offers a surprise in soaps, fragrance beads, and body scrubs as well which are nice additions. The ring reveal system that they have in place is much better than what JIC has in place currently, so while they had a lot more scents to offer we found that these features balanced each other out.

Size (wax): 10 oz – 18 oz (plus various other sizes for soaps, beads, etc.)

Wax Type: Natural soy blend

Prize Option: Ring with preference to size ($10 – $7500 value)

Burn Time: 100+ hours (18 oz)

What is My Ring Worth?: You can enter the code found on your ring on JewelScent’s appraisal page. If you happen to find a golden tag instead, that means that you have a piece worth from $100 – $7500!

In Conclusion

Of all the ring candles which we reviewed, these were our top 5. Keep in mind, this list will be updated and may change as we try out more candles and new companies appear. We highly recommend the candles from Fragrant JewelsJewelScent, and Jewelry In Candles as a good starting point if you have never purchased a ring candle before. There are of course upsides and downsides to each brand which we will add in a new section of this post in the future and in our individual reviews. Check out our ring candle reviews section for more information on each individual candle that we have reviewed so far.

I have tried Jewel scent, bella candles, and prize candle. The Bella candle I got had a tropical scent that bothered my allergies, and while its awesome all the rings are silver, they are also very dainty. I prefer the candles from prize candle, but even the rings they value at $25 quickly tarnish and discolor your skin. The jewel scent candle has the best rings in my opinion, with even the cheaper ones not discoloring my skin.

    • Reply Judy Johnson April 8, 2016 at 9:20 pm

I don’t like the ones from Prize Candle all that much. The rings look cheap and are in whatever size they decide to send (mostly very small sizes) and the candle didn’t really smell very much a over the house like Fragrant Jewel candles do. I want something I can at least wear.

I am proud to be a jewel scent Rep. I myself tested other companies products before I signed up for jewel scent. I love the candles of course but the body scrub is my personal favorite, the wax tarts are huge, and of course the jewelry is great! Thank you for writing this article.

You have got to try Jewelry In Candles! They are 21oz. and only $24.95. They are 100% soy wax with a cotton wick and smell AMAZING!!!!!!

I see you haven’t tried Fragrant Jewels… burns clean, strong scent not as expensive as another on your list and rings are nice, mine was worth $25

  • Reply Lisa May 4, 2015 at 6:01 am

I’ve tried a ton of these jewelry candles, and my far and away favorite has been Southern Gem Candles. The candle itself is in an adorable mason jar, the scent throw is long lasting, and far reaching, and rather than jewelry, there are genuine gemstones hidden in the candle instead. They’re a smidge on the pricier side ($3-4), but shipping is free and they have frequent sales.

I MUST suggest trying the Beach Linen above all their scents for summer!

You should definitely give jewelry in candles a shot. I’ve tried the ones you’ve listed above including bella candles and haven’t found one that competes with JIC.

Bella Candles released a new line of “European candles” and a line of soaps that are not guaranteed to have sterling silver jewelry. They are trying to hide this information from their consumers and will only admit it when questioned about it. They are claiming that the new lines are “test products”. Several people are very upset that they ordered these new products and received worthless costume jewelry and the company won’t do anything about it. Please do not encourage people to buy from them.

Have you ever gotten a candle that didn’t have anything in it? I just got one from Bling It Candles and haven’t gotten a response from them yet. I’m not sure what to do.

    • Reply The Candle Junkies December 20, 2015 at 7:01 pm

Personally I’ve never run into this problem before but I have heard of a couple rare occurrences where this has happened. Have they gotten back to you yet? Maybe they can give you a refund or a replacement candle.

I absolutely love Fragrant Jewels. As more jewelry candles hit the web, the quality and priceses of the rings have gone down, but my first two purchases of Fragrant Jewels I got an Amethyst ring worth over $500 (the stone was flawless..I took it to my jeweler to be appraised, and my second one was a Blue topaz worth over $400…I’m

You should do a review on the company called sweet smells and trinkets. The woman that makes them hand pours every single item in her home. The scent throw is AMAZING and the options are even better. From candles to tarts to bath items. I personally have only been able to make a few orders but every item I’ve have ordered has had a piece of jewelery over $100.00. Take a look at her page. have fun and enjoy

What do you mean by jewelscent having a better reveal system them JIC?

    • Reply The Candle Junkies March 21, 2016 at 6:32 pm

Thanks for the comment Ashley. Well what we mean by this is that with Jewelscent you will always have a tag attached to the piece of jewelry you find in your candle with a code on it, you can then go on their website and enter the code to reveal what your jewelry is worth. With JIC you will not get a tag with your jewelry unless the piece you find is worth $100 or greater I believe. So it doesn’t give you any less chance of finding an expensive piece of jewelry necessarily, but it is kind of a bummer opening up a prize that has no value given to it often. This is of course just my opinion, others may not find it that important to them. We still do love the candles that JIC makes, and have also heard from people at JIC that they plan on improving this aspect so this could potentially change! 🙂

I just went to Jewel scent and it says that the ring size chosen is not guaranteed. In reading the reviews of just one scented scrub I found two people that had not gotten the correct size. What are you supposed to do with a ring that doesn’t fit?? I am very hesitant to buy from them because the jewelry is the best part and I don’t want to waste my money on one that doesn’t fit. Anyone have experience with this?

  • Reply Kristen April 20, 2016 at 10:24 pm

I ordered from many companies and JewelScent was by far the best! I won a $40 ring in my first candle and a gorgeous ring valued at $100 from my second and they smell AMAZING.
