Candle Crush Wednesdays: Meet the Josephine Candle
Hello, candle lovers! I just wanted to tell you that this post will be the first of a series where we will be putting the spotlight on a single candle from all kinds of brands – big and small – that we think are worth checking out!
Hopefully you’ll find some new candles through this series that you’ve never heard of before to fall in love with.
For our inaugural post, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our absolute favorites from a brand that exudes vintage charm and timeless elegance.
Meet ‘Josephine’ by Harlem Candle Co.
A Little Background on Harlem Candle Co.
For those unacquainted, Harlem Candle Co. is a brand steeped in luxury and history. Their candles are reminiscent of the Harlem Renaissance, each one paying olfactory homage to iconic figures from this golden era.
Today, we’re smitten by ‘Josephine’, a candle that encapsulates an entire epoch in its aura.
The ‘Josephine’ Candle: An Ode to Elegance
‘Josephine’ is an aromatic gem with a scent profile that is a captivating blend of bergamot, Moroccan rose, Indian jasmine, warm amber, and sandalwood. Ever since I first burned this baby, I knew it was going to be a regular for me. It’s got the right balance that I look for in a scent like this with the floral notes coming through in a light powdery way and focus shifting more towards the tonka bean and amber.
It’s a fragrance that’s as elegant as Josephine Baker, the legend it’s named after.
When it comes to the price and burn time on this candle, I feel that it slots in similarly to where I would put NEST or Lafco candles, it’s more on the ‘affordable’ end of the luxury candle price range and this is where I’m finding some of my favorite candles come from these days. It’s so hard to justify true luxury candle purchases in todays economy but I find that with some of these brands such as Harlem Candle Co. you get a noticeable difference in quality from the cheaper candle brands while not being insanely expensive.
You can find this candle in a 2 wick or single wick variation with an 11oz fill for around $45. The burn time is pretty good as well coming in at approximately 80 hours.
Conclusion
And with that, we wrap up the first chapter of ‘Candle Crush Wednesdays’ with the exquisite ‘Josephine’ by Harlem Candle Co.
Whether you’re a history buff, a fragrance aficionado, or a candle lover, ‘Josephine’ is a delightful introduction to the world of aromatic elegance.
