No Nonsense Guide To Electric Candle Lighters

I thought my last guide about if usb lighters were worth it could use some updating, so here we are!

Electric candle lighters might seem like overkill, but they sure can make lighting your favorite candles a bit easier. Especially those candles where you need reach for the wicks – you know the ones I’m talking about.

If you’re tired of digging around for a lighter or box of matches every time you want to enjoy some calming aromatherapy, you’re in the right place. They’re not life-changing, but they’re handy, and they save you from the smell of lighter fluid, which is always nice.

So when it comes to these lighters, you’ll find countless brands on Amazon that are doing slight variations of the same electric candle lighter. It’s incredibly hard to decide from the reviews which ones work better than the others if any even do. Like seriously, even with prices that range from around $5 a lighter to ones that are $50+ I couldn’t find many lighters that were clearly better quality than others.

However, with that said, there are a few things that (in my opinion) make some of these lighters better than others:

  1. USB Type-C Charging: It’s 2023, I don’t know about you guys, but I despise having things that still use micro-usb for charging.
  2. Dual (or triple) Arcs: I’ve found that some of the single arc lighters struggle at lighting some candle wicks after a while, and some especially struggle when a candle has a thicker wick. Newer dual arc and triple arc lighters light wicks faster and with less of a struggle.
  3. Visual Appeal: Most electric lighters look similar and most look pretty crappy. Lighters with a slightly better look or feel can be the deciding factor when most of these are so similar.
  4. Durability: In a sea of lighters that aren’t very durable, a little added durability due to a good design is really appreciated.
  5. Battery Life: Going to use the lighter only to find out that it needs to be charged is the worst. Give us quality, long lasting batteries!
  6. Safety Features: As far as lighters go, electric lighters are pretty safe as it is. Even better safety features are kind of a bonus.

I took these factors into consideration when deciding on my top picks. I also kept the picks to a minimum so you don’t have the same choice paralysis that I did when going through all of these (seriously, it was bad). I hope you like them!

1. Electric Candle Lighter With Flashlight from Anthropologie

best electric candle lighters

These candle lighters from Anthropologie are by far the most expensive but they are one of the few that feel like they have a good quality build to them. They include a flashlight which is handy for lighting candles in the evening. They look better than most. And they are charged with USB Type-C cables which is nice.

Price: $$$

2. Dual Arc Electric Candle Lighter by Gakrr on Amazon

best electric candle lighters

This lighter is one of the few out there that use dual arcs. This lit candles faster which is something that normal electric lighters sometimes struggled with especially on larger wicks. It also came with a 360 mAh Lithium-Battery that is charged via a USB Type-C cable, this is also better than the majority of other electric lighters out there. It’s a little more pricey than the cheapest ones out there, but for a better quality lighter I’d say it’s worth it.

3. Ronxs Dual Pack Electric Lighters on Amazon

best electric candle lighters

Ronxs is one of the original electric candle lighter brands on Amazon and they are still one of the best. I like this style’s design from them which is upgraded to have a sleeker look and feel along with USB Type-C charging. The dual pack works out to an incredible deal as well, making it one of the cheapest electric candle lighters there is per lighter. If one craps out, it’s nice to have a backup, especially when they are as cheap as this.

4. Ronxs Bendable Neck Electric Lighter on Amazon

Here is another lighter from Ronxs. It is like the original style that you could find them in but with an upgrade to USB Type-C charging. The bendable neck is kind of nice for some candles and other applications.

Price: $

Electric candle lighters are pretty nifty. They definitely help if – like me – you find yourself turning candle jars upside down to reach the wicks only to burn yourself in the process.

Give one a try or stick with your trusty matches; either way, hope you all have a great day!
