The 17 Most Expensive Candles In The World

I was browsing around looking at luxury candles the other day and came across a post that was titled ’10 most expensive candles in the world’. It caught my attention. But when I clicked in and started reading, the candles that were listed were nowhere near as expensive as some of the candles I could list off the top of my head.

It got me wondering…

“What really are the most expensive candles in the world?”

So I decided to go ahead and do what we do on this blog and scour the internet for the most luxurious, highest priced candles out there.

Are you a candle junkie that has some a lot of spare cash lying around?

…No? …Well …Me neither unfortunately.

But some people do!

Yes, there is that slice of the population where it seems as if money does grow on trees. And for those people that have more money than they know what to do with, there are some candles that will do their best to help get rid of that excess wealth.

Note: If you’re looking for a list of good luxury candles that I highly recommend, you might be better off checking out this post I did on them. This list is purely for the most expensive candles around.

via GIPHY

I think I found what just might be the most expensive candles in the world.

I have to admit… it was pretty fun seeing what there was out there when there is no limit on the price tag.

We ranked this list from least expensive (very expensive) to most expensive (extremely expensive)

Also, three quick notes to make.

Firstly, to make this list more fair, I tried not to include extra large luxury candles because there are some HUGE candles out there and I feel like that can unfairly drive the price up. We did a post on large candles like that if you are interested you can go check that out.

Second, we picked candles that are actually available for purchase. Whether that be online or in some luxury retailer. So no, that special edition candle for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018 won’t be listed. Although some of these candles will actually come close to it in price!

Third, while scouting out the expensive candles to include on this list, I often found that the most expensive candles by a wide margin were because of the jar that they were contained in. Some were made of gold, some were handmade designer crystal vessels, some were just unique ceramic jars that would make for a statement art decor piece in your home. Because of this, I’ve debated making two separate lists, one that is without the expensive vessels and one that includes them. So let me know in the comments if you’d like to see that. For now, I’ll be including them as this is a most expensive candles list, and those are candles!

Honorable Mentions

These candles are super expensive as well. They are candles that don’t quite fit the list because they are too large and it made the list seem unfair.

Baoba Collection – Women Max 35 Candle $840

These candles have a huge upfront cost but it’s only because they are actually HUGE candles. This candle above burns for around 800 hours! Not only that but it is a 10 kg candle. It’s massive!

Breaking the cost down for this candle it actually works out to around $2 per ounce. Below is a little breakdown of the cost per ounce of a few popular candle brands at their regular price.

  1. I really like the L’Objet one! I love it when candles have ceramic jars as a pose to glass ones, they look so much better. The L’Objet design reminds me of the Requie Opulenta and Lladro candles which I have at home. I wish we could go into the stores and smell them!
