Fall is such a great time of the year for candles. If you are like us you find yourself indoors more often and looking for that added touch to cozy up your home. Candles can add that extra layer by tickling your senses with intoxicating scents and stunning aesthetics.
I’ve made lists of my favorite fall candles before but like many people my favorites are always changing and with new scents always coming out, I like to switch things up here and there.
These are some candles that you must try this Fall. Please enjoy! 🙂
14 Great Candles For Autumn (Pin It!)
1. LAFCO NEW YORK – SPICED POMANDER
Cinnamon, bitter orange, clove buds
This is one of my favorite new arrivals from the great scent creators at Lafco New York, and a perfect first entry to this list.
You are going to get a nice mix of fragrances with this candle. I was greeted with notes of spicy cinnamon and clove, balanced by some citrus notes, all over top of a warm amber base.
These candles from Lafco come in 4 different sizes and generally, the bigger you go the more value you are getting. Pictured above is their second largest which comes in at 15.5 oz. If you go a size up from there, the three wicks are 30 oz!
Wax Type: Soy wax blend
Burn Time: 90 Hours

Fragrant blend of sweet vanilla and pumpkin poured in a glass vessel.
This candle from Modern Alchemy is the perfect choice for those that want to try something new on a budget.
It’s the classic pumpkin and vanilla fragrance in a good sized 15 oz candle for just under a dollar an ounce. Not to mention, this is also a two wick candle to help give a clean and even burn!
Wax Type: Soy wax
Burn Time: 80 Hours

3. BOY SMELLS – ASH
Notes of firewood, smoke, charcoal, palo santo, and hay.
The wax on these candles from Boy Smells is incredible. They use a mix of pure beeswax and coconut wax to create a product that throws and burns awesome.
One of their most popular scents ‘Ash’, is perfect for the time of year and despite the name, it doesn’t smell as if you dipped your nose in a pit of ash.
The scent is quite smoky, but it’s also layered with some brighter notes from the juniper for a more delicate, woody overall fragrance.
Wax Type: Beeswax and coconut
Burn Time: 50 Hours
Price Per Ounce: $$$

4. GLADE CANDLE – PUMPKIN SPICE THINGS UP
Crafted with notes of tangy orange, spices, sweet caramel and sparkling ginger.
I love all the new candle brands that have been coming out from the last few years, but to be honest, who can afford pricey candles all the time?
For a strictly budget conscious choice, we chose to add this great little candle from Glade.
While it may not have the premium ingredients that some of the others do, you’ll still get a great smelling candle that’s perfect for autumn. The 3 wicks on this specific model will also ensure that you get a nice even burn to go along with it.
Wax Type: Paraffin wax
Burn Time: 50 Hours
Price Per Ounce: $

5. RANGER STATION – TOBAC + MUSK
Freshly-picked tobac leaves, seasoned nicely with spicy notes of amber and pepper.
While not necessarily a fall candle, this candle is the perfect one to burn this time of year if you want something a little bit different.
The whiskey glass that the candle is poured in is a nice little bonus as well. Well done Ranger Station 😉
Wax Type: Soy wax
Burn Time: 40-50 Hours

6. OTHERLAND – CARDAMOM MILK
Frothy milk, cardamom, praline woods.
I mentioned Otherland back in our spring candles list from this year and I had to bring them back for another appearance.
Yes, part of the reason that I’m so addicted to these candles is their lovely designs and packaging, but there is some beautiful scents to be had as well!
Cardamom Milk is from their Manor House Weekend seasonal lineup and it is one of my favorite scents of the bunch.
Wax Type: Coconut and soy wax blend
Burn Time: 55 Hours
Price Per Ounce: $$
7. JEWELSCENT – PUMPKIN DULCE
Black mission fig immersed with notes of cinnamon, gingersnap, sweet caramel, and vanilla.
This one from Jewelscent is one of their signature ‘ring candles’. Each of these candles comes with a ring inside valued between $20 – $7500. Considering that the candle itself is 18 oz, which is larger than the 3 wicks from Bath and Body Works, you are getting some extremely good value with these candles.
Pumpkin Dulce is an excellent scent for this year’s fall line up. While the description on the website says moderate throw, I find that to be an understatement.
Wax Type: Organic coconut and soy wax
Burn Time: 120 Hours
Price Per Ounce: $
8. OUTDOOR FELLOW – FIREPLACE AND CLOVE
Cedarwood, Clove, Patchouli and Woodsmoke.
Outdoor Fellow has been popping up a fair bit recently but this is the first time we’ve mentioned them on the blog.
This candle is for those that cozy woodfire scent in a candle. Perfect as the weather gets chilly and the nights get longer.

9. WOODWICK – TRILOGY: AUTUMN HARVEST
Top: Apple Basket, Mid: Blackberry, Base: Pumpkin Butter.
The crackling wicks on Woodwick candles are a nice touch no matter the time of year but add a little something extra as we get into fall.
I was debating going with the autumn comfort trilogy candle for this list but I feel like this is the better choice if you haven’t tried either candle before.
Three layers. Three different fragrances. Yummmmmm!

11. YANKEE CANDLE – HONEYCRISP APPLE CIDER
Top: Honeycrisp Apple, Mid: Apple Cider, Honey, Base: Musk.
There are so many Yankee Candles to pick from and so many different scents that we’ve loved it’s always difficult to decide which fragrance to pick for a list like this.
We’ve chosen some of our all time favorite scents for previous fall candle listicles in the past but this time we decided to go with Honeycrisp Apple Cider.
While not initially one of my instant favorites from Yankee, this one grew on me the more I was around it. It’s clean and fresh and great for those that love to throw in those kind of fragrances into their fall mix.
Wax Type: Paraffin wax
Burn Time: 110 Hours

12. HOMEWORX – PUMPKIN WOODS
Blend of pumpkin, cedarwood, sprinkled nutmeg and white cinnamon.
What can I say that I haven’t previously said about the Homeworx candles. Harry Slatkin knows how to make a good candle.
This is one of my favorites candles for autumn called Pumpkin Woods.
You get a nice mix of sweet and spicy but it’s the cedarwood that really brings this to another level.
Wax Type: Paraffin wax blend
Burn Time: 30 – 55 Hours
Price Per Ounce: $

13. CAPRI BLUE – PUMPKIN DULCE
Sweet notes of white pumpkin, sweet gingersnap and whipped vanilla.
Okay.. so I’m on a bit of a pumpkin kick this year as you can probably tell. I really do get caught up in it all.
Anyways, another delicious pumpkin-y candle to add to the list is the Pumpkin Dulce from Capri Blue.
If you are unaware of the brand, they are the company behind an extremely popular scent that is sold at Anthropologie called ‘Volcano’.
Wax Type: Soy and paraffin wax blend
Burn Time: 40 Hours

14. D.S. & DURGA – BREAKFAST LEIPZIG
Strong coffee, buttery almond pastries, pipe tobacco.
I absolutely love the creativity from the folks at D.S. & Durga. They’ve created some of my favorite scents of the last few years.
At first I was going to choose their Portable Fireplace candle for this list as it would fit in perfectly for autumn, but I’ve already mentioned this candle recently in the ‘Top Candles That Smell Like Campfire’ list.
Breakfast Leipzig is for those looking for more of a gourmand fragrance. It was created to replicate the scents one would expect in the German cafe from Bach’s ‘Java Cantata’.
Wax Type: Soy and beeswax blend
